We dwell on the past, fruitlessly attempting to alter what we cannot change, or become entangled in a web of “what ifs” about a future we cannot control. Lost in these mental wanderings, do we really stay in the present? But what if we could capture our desires in concrete form, breaking them down into small, tiny, manageable steps? These steps might seem insignificant, tedious, or even boring at times, but they anchor us in the here and now. Progress might feel slow, even imperceptible, but it is progress nonetheless. And when you zoom out and see you might discover that these small steps have actually created something truly beautiful or profoundly useful.
